Incase you hadn't noticed it's VERY hot today.
Also evaporated soy milk still tastes really strongly of soy milk. I used it in pasta sauche today, and when it was actually on the pasta it didn't seem to matter so much, but the taste was REALLY strong during the cooking.
The end.

last night we went and saw Sherlock holmes. must say Watson was great (Jude law, well improving with age) quite an enjoyable film all up, and a good few hours entertainment.
I did think the woman playing Holmes love interest was way too young to be his love/nemesis adventurer criminal world traveller type, and that annoyed me a bit, but the actress was fine enough other than being at least 10 years too young.
today we went to the Zoo. public holiday on top of xmas break meant it was awash with prams and strollers and toddlers and small children so the journey through a lot of the exhibits meant we just didnt get to see some things (monkeys, butterflies etc.) as it was crammed full, and i couldnt be bothered , but got to see most things and took lots of pics , whcih I'll go through once i finish editing and uploading my Mooloolaba aquarium and my xmas snaps :]

It is time for the 3rd Time Limited Print Sale!!!
(the first was back in 07' for 'Mizuame'.)
(and the second one in 08' for 'Two Sisters'.)
This is a type of sale where the print will be available for exactly one hour,
and ANYONE who clicks the button during that time will be guaranteed a print.
(the edition size will be much larger than usual of course.)
The sale will most likely happen in mid-January.
i cant seem to post the POLL on to this entry.
so please see the newest entry to vote in the poll.
unfortunately if you do not have a Live Journal account, it doesn't let you click,
but feel free to leave a comment and will count those in.
Thankyou so much!!!

BleedingCool.com showed it off yesterday. Your first look at the cover to Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse Volume 2 the Deviant Edition Hardcover. Should be out later next year. ( As opposed to early next year ). When I know more details I'll scream them to the world. Going to be a large chunk of extras and spiffy trim in this one, as with the first Hardcover.

hi ya , I'm home from tassie !
had a good Xmas , though the week preceding the kids were sick (with a childhood illness called slapped face/ fifths disease, it looks like German measles) so we didn't get to go anywhere exciting this time, as they were to be in isolation and were feeling sick and awful.
but lucky they were all better by Xmas :]
we had some family around for Xmas dinner at my sisters, and more family for leftovers for tea, and today was (our) traditional boxing day lunch of more leftovers, with some family that had stayed around :]
I got a salad spinner for our kris kringle, which is what I wanted , but had a worry when i was packing my suitcase that i wouldn't fit it in, but managed to just squeeze my clothes back in around the box :]
(oh and apparently my tallest Santa has ordered something for me, that will arrive in the mail, and its' a surprise :}
hope you all had a great Xmas eve/ day / boxing day and that Santa was good to you too :]

Merry Christmas to all of you. It's a little sad for me: there's nothing like spending 'family time' with mostly strangers to make you realize how lonely you are.
On the plus side, Scott really seems to like his present. I bought him a Nintendo DSi with Scribblenaughts. Watching him summon forgotten souls to kill bees and beating a bear to death with a shovel to complete a level is kinda awesome.
I'm pretty terrible at gift giving, but it was nice to finally have the money to try and improve my skills in that regard. And also nice to be so conveniently located right near an EB. I've been stuck at work for weeks and worried I wasn't going to get the chance to do ANY shopping whatsoever.
I'm back to work tomorrow, but, I did get myself the best Christmas present ever: some time off and a reduction in hours/days worked. I think I really need the break.
Also, he's not letting me have my present until tomorrow. Grrrrr, I hate surprises!

apartment love

My computer died back in october, it was very sad. She had been feeling poorly for about a year, but kept pushing on. Finally before I went to South Africa, she sighed her last breath. So while hunting for a new one (although I felt conflicted about replacing my old friend) I was using Milos´s computer at the studio. 2 weeks ago that too died. So what is it? is it me??

At about the same time, we moved apartments, and now live on calle verdi at the heart of gracia, which is nice, but noisy. So things have been a little hectic - I have been busy doing DIY and stressing over the lack of computer to do any work on.

It´s interesting because I actually ended up doing quite a lot of real life painting, getting my fingers dirty, and paint in my hair. Quite satisfying really. I have an exhibition coming up in January, so it´s probably just as well that i had to say goodbye to computers in general.

i also learnt how to use a drill, and our apartment now boasts a few more holes, strategic or not, :-)and storage!

this is my Doglet. He used to belong to my neighbor att he old place. One day I came home and saw him (with his whole body) outside their door. they were doing some renovations or something. I oohed and aahed. and wished i could take him home.
the next day i found his head in the trash outside. clearly there was foul play involved. True to my strange african roots, i took him home, and enshrined his head in my curiosity cabinet.
Finally this year I have fashioned him a winter bonnet and he now resides on the wall protecting my missyucki prints

today for christmas, i received a double christmas and birthday present, a new laptop. I´m back online, phewy, just in time to wrap up stuff for new year!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
